Editing Company Guide

1. What is the relationship between editing companies and Newpubli?

It has been stated in Editorial Policies of Newpubli that, after an article has been accepted and published by Newpubli as a preprint, the article may be examined in language and format by one editing company which is selected by the corresponding author of the article from the editing companies having been accredited by Newpubli. The selection is optional, and is useful to increase the value of the article. Accordingly, the corresponding author should pay the invited editing company.

2. Why should Newpubli accredit some editing companies?

Newpubli shall accredit some editing companies free of charge in order to:

(1) ensure the editing service of the editing companies is as good as possible,

(2) ensure the editing price offered by the editing companies is as low as possible.

3. Why editing companies should apply to be accredited by Newpubli?

Some editing companies should apply to be accredited by Newpubli free of charge in order to:

(1) obtain numerous editing service opportunities without advertisement or one-to-one negotiation on price;

(2) be considered reliable and well noticed by authors of this and other journals through the accreditation.

4. How many editing companies will be accredited by Newpubli?

In 2016, Newpubli will accredit two to ten editing companies. Usually, the accreditation will be valid for two years.

5. How can an editing company be accredited by Newpubli?

An editing company shall be accredited by Newpubli if the company has met the following ten requirements:

(1) the company has been maintained for at least five years;

(2) the company has provided language editing service for at least 500 research articles in the past 12 months;

(2) the company has provided language editing service for at least 500 research articles in the past 12 months;

(3) the company has agreed to complete the examination and revision task within seven days including any holidays after the company has been selected by the relevant author;

(4) the editing company allows authors select to pay for the editing service before the editing service has started according to the words the company shall examine or the number of the sites the company shall correctly comment on at fixed prices showed in the web site of Newpubli. If an author selects to pay their service according to the words the company shall examine, the company can require the author pay, for example, 100 USD for every 1000 words the company shall examine. If an author selects to pay their service according to the number of the sites the company shall correctly comment on, the company can require the author pay, for example, 20 USD for the first correctly revised site, 15 USD for the second correctly revised site, 5 USD for each of other correctly revised site. It is defined by Newpubli that a site correctly commented on is that the site at which an error has been identified by the editing company and the site has been correctly revised accordingly if the company need not know more information, or the site at which an error has been identified by the editing company no matter that the site has been correctly revised accordingly if the company need know more information.

(5) the editing company allows authors from at least ten countries to pay the service through a convenient way.

(6) the company has allowed Newpubli to list the company name in the articles it has examined and revised as the editing company of the articles.

(7) the company should state in its web site that it has been accredited by Newpubli after it has been accredited by Newpubli.

(8) the company has accepted the rule that an accredited company may lose the accreditation because quite a few errors in language in the articles have not been identified and revised through its examination and revision, or it has not completed the examination and revision in time for quite a few times, or it has refused to examine and revise the preprints published by Newpubli for quite a few times;

(9) the legal representative of the company has signed and clarified that all information they submitted to Newpubli in the following application file is true and can be published online by Newpubli in the file of Editing Company List.

(10) the company has submitted the application file through their official email address to Newpubli official email address (journal@newpubli.com), and provided evidences in the application file which can prove the company has met the above nine requirements. It also should be clarified in the application file the editing price according to the words the company shall examine and the editing price according to the number of the sites the company shall correctly comment on, and the ways the editing company shall receive payments sent from different countries or regions. Because each author has the right to select one editing company from those accredited by Newpubli, the prices should be as low as possible in order to be attractive.

6. What should an accredited editing company do?

The editing company should respond to the invitation email sent from Newpubli within one business day to Newpubli and the corresponding author, and clarify whether it accepts the task or not.

The editing company, if it has accepted the task, should complete the examination and revision of the article within seven days including any holidays after it has received the invitation email.

The editing company should not request the corresponding author to pay the editing fee until the author has checked whether all the revised sites were correctly commented on within five days including any holidays after the editing company sent the revised article to the author.

For each preprint whose authors have selected an editing company to provide the editing service, Newpubli shall make an online comment on it below the abstract that an editing company has been invited to examine and revise this preprint. For any preprints without this comment, each editing company can make an online comment on the writing of the preprint if the company has identified multiple sites in the preprint should be revised through the Newpubli account which can be created as follows.

Each accredited editing company should create a Newpubli account like an author (click here to create a Newpubli account): the title, given/first name, family/last name should all belong to the person in the editing company who is responsible to communicate with clients; the account name should be the official email address of the editing company; the institution should be the whole legal name of the company. Meanwhile, the rectangle of “the titles, journals, publication years of three of your articles published in some journals whose impact factors are ³3.0” should be filled with “I am the representative of an editing company which is applying to be accredited by Newpubli”.
